Billboard Breakdown (2/10)

Still riding off Grammy buzz, several artist saw spikes in their numbers. Lady Antebellum tops the list with another 200K sold with the album Need You Now (and the self titled release with 21K). With that out the way, on to the commentary…
2. Lil Wayne – Rebirth – 173,821
- You have to believe this is considered a victory seeing as how the album was leaked some two months ago. With a three week extension, I wouldn’t be surprised if he shot a video for every song.
- Still sitting in the top 10 and I’m somewhat sure she is near the 3-4 million in sales mark. Never heard the album, but I’ve gotta give respect where it’s due. I just hope she signed a lucrative deal. Don’t end up like New Edition.
- The definition of one of the few GLOBAL superstars in music. With a few major performances and appearances, she could probably ride off this album for the next several months.
- I understand the reasoning for shooting “Put It In A Love Song” with Beyonce. The two biggest stars in the R&B realm coming together for one video. Yeah, but “Unthinkable” will hopefully be the single that ushers the spring in.
- If you haven’t heard this album, I suggest you do so. They deserve the success that is coming to them.
- Em is a chart topper regular. That said, all I care about is Relapse 2 right now.
- Congrats to Trey for Ready for achieving gold status. A video for “Neighbors Know My Name” with a cameo from Keri Hilson is on the way. Be on the lookout for Trey on tour with Jay-Z and Young Jeezy. And some music from all three. TM 103, perhaps?
- Yup, all Grammy sales right here. I remember reading awhile back he had two other albums already done to complete his comeback trilogy. Hopefully the second installment is coming later this year.
